Beach-y

The first week of term 3 has passed. Wow, its term 3 already? Well, I guess it didn’t feel that way yet since we have June Common Tests. Torturous I must say, but it’s a thing of the past now and we can only learn from our mistakes. We need to look back and reflect upon this phase in our mundane JC lives, I say!

June holidays have been rather enjoyable. It’s nice to let your hair down after a spending days on end burying your nose in books. So I had a short trip to Redang Island in Malaysia. It’s a nice little isolated offshore island at the north of Malaysia and there was lot of sun and sand. Not to mention lots of eye candy too. Hehe.

Anyways, I spent 4 days there snorkeling about 6 hours everyday. It’s awesome to see the underwater world! You see shoals of fishes in all their glorious colours and many pretty corals. It’s like you get transported into another realm and then soak in all the pretty sights, floating and swimming around, the world feeling so lightweight on your shoulders…

It was lots of fun and I wanna go back there sometime soon! With my friends, hopefully!
Okays, no mood to blog ‘cuz I’m feeling very PMS-y now. =(
I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Crystal clear waters.
These are boats that ferry us to other islands for snorkeling!

I thought these look really nice.
The one that looks like a pencil is a banana boat!
I wanna ride that thing!
Seems like so much fun!

Co.

Nut.
Trees.

Litter on the pristine beach...
Not so pristine after all, huh?
Hammocks are lovely.

The resort where I stayed at.
Simple yet comfortable.
Ah, the life!

=/
Ok awkward shot of me.
Haha.

Sitting on the portable jetty. (:
Do I look beachy?

Picture jump!

Kenrick mugging at Changi Airport with me.

As am I!
xD

Both of us at Rexband concert held at The Rock, Suntec.

Picture inside the auditorium.
They're a praise and worship band that came over from India.
They sang many different songs in different languages and were really entertaining.
Not really my cup of tea though.
Good experience overall.
Mmmhmm.

Random picture of JX @ Gloria Jeans.
I purchased the coffee as a treat for them.
I'm so nice, right?

Bye!

Passion... threats... fears... boo.

Passion makes a person stop eating, sleeping, working, feeling at peace.
A lot of people are frightened because, when it appears, it demolishes all the old things it finds in its path.

No one wants their life thrown into chaos. That is why a lot of people keep that threat under control, and are somehow capable of sustaining a house or a structure that is already rotten. They are the engineers of the superseded.

Other people think exactly the opposite: they surrender themselves without a second thought, hoping to find in passion a solution to all their problems. They make the other person responsible for their happiness and blame them for their possible unhappiness.

They are either euphoric because something marvellous has happened or depressed because something unexpected has just ruined everything.

Keeping passion at bay or surrendering blindly to it --- which of these two attitudes is the least destructive?

I don’t know.

Confidence...?

I’m feeling very stressed now. Half of the June holidays have zipped past and I haven’t been very productive in my revision. I’m very scared. Hopefully I can revise as much as possible in the coming few days because I’ll be going overseas for a few days next week. Oh and there’s class gathering as well.

Common tests are so damn daunting. It’s really hard to convince yourself that you can do well when the O’s have shattered your confidence in doing examinations and you just feel like a loser or something. *sigh* This is a big hurdle I need to overcome right now. Raarghh! I need to concentrate!!!

Okay, I don’t really have the motivation to blog now so I’ll end off with a quote:

My friend smsed me this:

“… I’m convinced that we’re telepathic. If we were girls we’ll have synchronised periods. ;)”

Heh.
Okays, I might consider having quotes of the week from now on.
Hmm. Time to hit the books again!

Pretty Purposes

Went out on Tuesday to take a little break from my mundane routine of studying. Met up with Matt, Vin and JX at Vivo to catch Indiana Jones. Not too bad a movie, a little draggy at parts but rather suspenseful and entertaining. Felt too much like National Treasure though. I think National Treasure ripped off Indiana Jones though. Oh well, we're in a different generation now…

After the movie, we sat down at Gloria Jeans’ Café to have some coffee ‘cos I had coupons and I treated everyone to a cup of coffee. =) I did a good deed… sorta. Spent over an hour there chatting about JC stuff, gossiped about people and teased each other about our crushes/eye candy. Vin lamented about why we were chatting about school when we’re like supposed to be out enjoying ourselves. I guess it’s something that’s inevitable. I mentioned that I wanted to see everyone in their new school uniforms!

Window shopped around and we talked about a lot of stuff. Anyways, soon it was dinner time and we made our way to Carl’s Junior and had our dinner there. Somehow our conversation just became very serious (which I enjoy talking about actually). We chatted about life, religion, family, the political scene in Singapore and even conspiracy theories about Mas Selamat’s escape.

And then… death. A topic that we have must come to accept at some point in our lives. Family passing… schoolmate passing… highly coincidental ‘cos yesterday there was a newspaper article about the verdict about the driver who was involved in the accident. Ahh, first there was musical world… then we spoke up something unfortunate that happened in the past… and now… this. It just seems so… I don’t know. Coincidental? A cruel stab in the back…? I hope that sort of ends the issue for now. I mean, you can’t ever satisfy everyone. Not everyone is going to be happy and you can’t bring the person back. So we just have to get over it.

I mentioned that I wouldn’t know how I’d feel like when I wake up on that fateful day in the coming months, even though it’s a year later. But I think I need to be strong because there are others who would feel the pain as well, even more for some, no less.

Let’s sit back, close our eyes and contemplate… what’s our pretty purpose in life again?

Musical World XXII

Saturday was a blast. It was VS Concert Band’s Musical World XXII! Met up with Gena before the start of the concert to grab a little snack. Walked around but couldn’t find any eateries to grab food as most of them were either business outlets or they were closed. So we made out way to Tanjong Pagar Xchange. This place is new since most of the shops were closed. I never knew there was a Tanjong Pagar Xchange. Haha.

Anyways, after eating we still had some time so we walked around as Gena wanted to get some sweets. Matt arrived shortly after and so did many other VS guys. So I think almost everyone had the same reaction when they saw me. Firstly, either they couldn’t recognize me… or they chose not to acknowledge my presence as they were shy. Friends, I don’t look that different right? I mean, I’m just not wearing my spectacles, that’s all. Apparently I look very different.

Enjoyed the concert tremendously, but I was freezing because it was rather cold in the theatre. Had to go pee quite a lot of times because I pee like a waterfall when it’s really cold. This was my first VS Band concert, never went for any of the others because I’m not a band kinda of person. Maybe I shall start going for more from now on, haha.

Met many VS people there (duh!). It was nice to see the Sec 4s after such a long time. Just smiled gingerly at them since most of them were too shy to say hi to me. Sorry I couldn’t spend time chatting with all of you. I think all of us were busy catching up with friends as well. Oh yes, saw some students in band who were from my PSL class. I told Gena that I was a little emotional cos I’ve known them from my PSL class since sec 1 and it was heartening to see them come into their element on stage. Kudos to them! Band people, you guys did well! =)

After the entire thing, spent a long time trying to get all the 4H’07 people together cos I wanted to get class pictures! I felt like a monitor all over again. Heh. I never liked nagging people around, it hurts my throat. Now you all now how I feel like having to ask you all to gather or do something as a class. Tsk.

After picture taking was done, most of us made our way to Lau Pa Sat for some late night supper. Had quite a spread of satay, stingray, teh tarik and deserts. Mhmm. The food was good just that the prices are a little steep huh. Great feast nonetheless.

Okays, pictures time!

"How to look wistful while eating an agar agar."
=D

Sit straight, Nicolas!
Bad posture!
Tsk, tsk.

Jin Chieh & Gena.
Nice picture, right?

I'm trying to get a picture with her...
But SOME people just need to get in the way 'cuz they're desperate camwhores!
Tsk.

Gabe & I.
Good job playing in the alumni band!
Nice seeing you again! =)

I really like this class picture... too bad the flash killed it.
Ahh, anyone knows how to edit the bad lighting?
Someone has really sparkly shoes!
Haha.

Act cute picture!
Heh.

Farez is contemplating where he can get the best spot to camwhore!
Re-arranging time!

Best picture of the night, in my opinion!
Yeahhh.

Great to see everyone after such a long time. Miss y’all! Haha. Some of you have lost/gained weight and we saw Farez with his girlfriend. Oooh. Yes, it was nice to chat about our JC lives and how everyone is doing.

Hope to see y’all soon sometime!
And that would be during our class gathering!
Go to our class blog for more details okay? (:

P.S.
Vincent & Ming Han!
Please send me all the other class pictures okay?
Then I can share it with everyone else!
Thanks! ^^
