SPAs and my fragile heart
Sat for my Biology and Chemistry SPAs today. I think I screwed up Bio really badly for the graph part and for Chemistry… I think it’s just as crappy. Luckily the rest of class felt the same way too. The bloody magnesium strip took so long to dissolve.
Something I dread is that SPAs make my heart beat with arterial ferocity and it makes me really stressed and my heart thumps so hard I think it'd fall out. Especially when I'm at a loss of what to do...
The feeling is "ugh!!!"
Dammit.
I’m having my Physics SPA tomorrow along with the Principal’s talk. I’m kinda worried cuz he said he’ll be showing us the review of our marks so far… Mr Low said before he isn’t jumping up and down about our marks… So yeah, hopefully it ain't that bad.
Hopefully, I can finally succeed in doing a Physics SPA well… otherwise… I think my Physics for ‘O’s is a goner.
Arghx! *tears hair out*
I only have one thing to say to myself:
GOSH NICOLAS! YOU'RE SOOOO STUPID!!!
Hail Mary.

That irritating itch
Okay, I always have irregular sleeping times during the holidays and I think it’s really bad for my health. I slept till 1pm today… boy ,was I shocked when I woke up and looked at the time. Then I realised that I had been rubbing both my eyes the entire night and my eyes felt sore and puffy when I woke up. Looked in the mirror and both my eyes were bloodshot. Gosh, it’s the recurring problem of my sore eyes again and it SUCKS big time.
This weekend was horribly boring. I had Chinese tuition on Saturday morning, then I studied a little Physics and then I went to nap. Ended up sleeping for like 4 hours. Adding it to the 12 hours I had slept the previous night before, so that makes a grand total of 16 hours of sleep! Whee.
Basically, I spent the entire weekend sleeping, eating, sleeping, eating then studying. I guess it’s hard to study especially after your exams have just ended. Doing work is a torture when you realise how much you have forgotten. Then you study the topic and you attempt to do the question again, but WAIT, you still don’t get it. That’s how frustrating it is. So I’m trying my best to brush up, with the help of my tutor (who isn’t exactly the best?) but we’re working on it. He’s new you see. So the rapport takes a LITTLE while to build up, but I’m sure it’ll be fine in the end.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately. What we... what I want in my life, and one of them is achieving the best results possible and it’s a long journey, I know, but I’m working hard at it. I have to live up to many expectations and I have to do better than some people or I just can’t forgive myself. It may seem a little childish or naïve but hey, that’s what competitiveness is all about. You have to stay in the game, and that's being at the top of what you are part of! I know, it’s so cliché but I’m starting to get why it is!
Many things happened last week. The Head Prefect election was carried out and Victoria School has a new head prefect. After which I was speaking with Wei Jie that day, about how he felt that he was gonna be a normal student again. How would he feel and how he would react during the Prefects’ farewell on Saturday. I shudder thinking about handovers today. I mean it’s just so SAD. I know it’s time for the juniors to take over and I’m happy for them. I’m definitely proud of them! But thinking back about what the EXCO have gone through together? It justs gets me all weepy.
Anyways, I was just tagging on my junior’s blog that day and he replied that he would miss me when I’m gone. Reading that tag, it just struck me hard that how well and how much have I done as a Sec 4 student through the years in VS? It also touched me more than anything that it came from someone whom I recently could understand more and share my views with. I thank you for that.
Hmm. Certainly made me reflect a lot about life as a student and as a person.
Soon, it’ll be the PSB / MC handover BBQ and AGM meeting with the EXCO in the coming weeks. It’s exciting yet sad at the same time. Hope I don’t get too emotional!
Well, I’ll be having science SPAs the next 2 days so I hope I won’t screw up too badly!
Good luck to all Sec 4s!
Hail Mary.

And we question ourselves.
“Are you happy?”
"Not especially. Because I have a few issues that plague me.”
"Oh dear, I’m sorry to hear that. You see, I think there comes a time when a man has to ask himself;
whether he wants a life of happiness,
or a life of meaning.”
“I’d like to have both.”
Laughter.
A wry smile.
He shrugs and shakes his head.
"Can’t be done. Two very, different paths.
I mean, to be truly happy, a man, must live absolutely in the present...
no thought of what’s gone before, no thought of what lies ahead.
But, a life of meaning ---
a man is condemned to wallow in the past and obsess about the future."
---
---
---
"My guess is that, you have done quite a bit of obsessing about yours these last few days.”
Hail Mary.
Droning School Days...
Well, these few days have been hectic alright! I’m spending the entire school day which is about 4hr+ give or take recess, just doing Chinese papers and going through them over and over again! ><
Anyways, there has been crazy planning and rescheduling of the Monitors’ Council Camp 2007 due to time constraints and the Sec 4s not being able to make it. Thankfully, that has all been settled and the dates are finally confirmed. Kudos to all the Sec 3 EXCO members who have put in great effort to come up with the proposals, forms and the planning of the schedule of the camps! I must say the activities are very exciting, the monitors are going to do rock wall climbing! How cool is that? =)Well, I hope all the Sec 3 member are working well together! Do not hesitate to ask the Sec 4s for any help as I think we are most willing to contribute in any way that we can. Intensive mother tongue lessons are so freakin’ boring.
Yes, I just realised my Chinese teacher struck a deal with the class today. We have to complete a chapter of our Chinese workbook and show it to her tomorrow in exchange for our Prelim 1 papers. I was like,” Shit, the bloody school bookshop is out of stock!” And as I’m typing this, I’m like, uh, Nicolas you are so stupid you forgot to go to Popular just now to buy it? Omg, I’m screwed.
Shrek 3 Gala Premiere
Right, so yesterday after school I headed over to Great World City for the gala premiere of Shrek 3! Yayness. I was there with Wei Jie, Chin Boon, Kia Hong, Jing Xuan, Javier, Javin, Farez, Vincent and Jin Chieh. So first thing we did when we met up was to have dinner at the food court where some really bizarre events took place. (I’ll try to recall as best I can ‘cuz I was deciding to severe ties with the group after the incident, lol. Just kidding.)
Ok, so Vincent went to one of the stalls and tried to order Popiah from the shop assistant working there. She freakin’ looks like the crazy lady with frizzy hair and the curls from Kung Fu Hustle. Anyways, when Vincent asked her for the dish, she gave him a bloody black face and said that there was no more. So he came back to the table and related the story to us, with Wei Jie making fun of the lady the whole time and everyone was laughing really loudly in the food court.
After we managed to catch our breaths, I think someone dared Chin Boon to ask the lady for Popiah… Which he did lol!
The conversation in mandarin went something like this:
CB: ”Auntie, can I have popiah?”
Auntie: (face turns a shade of black, in screechy voice) “No more popiah already! You are sitting with your friend right? I already told your friend that there is no more popiah, why did you still order the popiah! Blah blah blah!”
(Points and shoots off her mouth incessantly.)
Cb: “…Orh, ok.”
(Walks off)
Someone pass me a glue gun so I can seal her lips.
=X
Chin Boon went back to his seat and gosh, we were all laughing again, damn loudly. Well, I must say this incident kinda reminded me of the “No pork!” video. If someone from our group ordered popiah from her again, I think she’d snap and start wielding her chopper at us. Then we'll have a video entitled. "No popiah lady becomes deranged and murders 10 boys."
Sadness.
Lol.
Well, then we headed over to the cinema where there was a freaking long queue and thank goodness we managed to get rather nice seats in the centre of the cinema. I think the entire group really enjoyed Shrek 3. Boy, was it hilarious! I still preferred Shrek 2 a little over this sequel but overall it was still a great laugh-out-loud comedy. Particular scene I enjoyed was the princesses fighting. Imagine Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderalla, Fiona, The Queen and the Ugly Stepsister fighting the fairytale monsters and guards. I loved that scene! I just wished it was a longer scene!
I won’t say much of the story since it hasn’t open to the general public yet… but I strongly recommend the show as the animation is really spectacular and the characters are so lovable! Yup, so catch Shrek 3 when it opens next week!

Young Leaders' Day 2007
Yesterday, I headed to Ngee Ann Polytechnic for the Young Leaders’ Day 2007 with Gabriel, Rahul, Syamil, Firdaus, Chin Boon, Hans, Yun Jun, Qamarul, Danial, Weng Keong, Linus and Glen. The theme for the convention was “Own Your World” which I felt was rather apt for us students.
How would students, especially Singapore students, contribute to help save Mother Earth? I felt a sense of familiarity, as the week before, I had written a magazine report for English Prelim about how my class could save the earth through our efforts for Victorian Challenge. The main problem that we were to tackle during this convention was simple: Environmental Degradation. I guess it helps to learn more about the Earth we are living on and I’m happy that I had the background knowledge of the issue through my Geography studies. The 2nd was how we could learn from other Young Leaders’ examples on how they can tackle the responsibilities and stress of being in their positions.
These sharings definitely struck a chord with me and the others. It was rather insightful and inspiring, especially the videos that were shown during the intervals. The video of the disabled kid on Oprah was so touching. I was on the brink of crying. I think many people in the audience were touched by his courage and strength to deal with his disability at the young age of 10.
Well I don’t want to go into too much detail as I think it will bore everyone reading this. So let me just say that all of us have a part to encourage the actions of others in a move to stop environmental degradation.
And as the Batman Begins quote goes:
“It’s not deep down inside that defines you, but what you do.”
Here are some pics of what happened yesterday. (:

I'm seeing stars --- yet again!
Well, I’m finally done with my last paper of this term --- E maths! Was pretty easy I guess. Apart from some random questions that many of the Sec 4s were stumped for, most of the questions were manageable and pretty easy. Yupps. I think I’ll be fine for E maths, for paper 2 at least! x)
So after my paper, I hung around in school for awhile for a few meetings to discuss about upcoming handovers, interviews and term-of-reports that the current EXCO will have to submit to the teachers soon. Ah, I guess I only have this weekend to rest up before going full speed ahead again!
Met up with WeiJie, Jing Xuan, Vincent and Kia Hong at Plaza Sing today to collect SHREK 3 premiere tickets, which I can proudly say we managed to get 10 tickets all together! Wahaha. (: Well, the rest had waited for a long time before I met up with them. I reached about 3pm, and they were there at 12pm. The tickets on the other hand, were only given out at 6.30pm, meaning we had to hang around for a long, long, long time.
We were like the 2nd group in line, after a group of mothers who had their kids all over them. *Sigh* We weren’t the first but yeah, I guess it was ok! So we spent our time talking, taking random pictures… And I got to play this electronic guitar game on an XBOX 360 at Best Denki. Cool game by the way! Although I sucked big time at it. Kia hong = pro at the game! Vincent wasn’t half-bad either!
OH yeah, I also sat on the uPapa massage chair that was placed near the escalator. It was ugh, rather uncomfortable at first but after you get used to it, it was a rather pleasant massage. In case you’re wondering it’s like someone using sticks and smacking them on your back, basically a drum-like massaging concept. Wei Jie called after that to shoo me back to the 7th floor where we continued waiting again.
Then, when the booths were being set up, guess who popped up! SHAN WEE! The radio DJ from 98.7 FM! How cool is that! He was there with another DJ from Class 95 FM. Can’t remember her name though. Anyways, he went around looking for people to interview for broadcast and he approached our group! Whee. Well, he told us to talk about the movie a little, what we were looking forward to… etc etc. And all this would be broadcast live on 98.7FM!
He came over after about, 5 mins? Then he asked who would like to speak and all fingers were on me… I seriously felt like it was déjà vu all over again!
The conversation went something like this:
Shan: So here we are at Plaza Singapura, where there is a giveaway to a gala premiere of the upcoming movie SHREK 3! So right here beside me, there is a group of strapping guys (lol!) near the front of the queue. *turns to me*
Shan: So what’s your name?
Me: Um, Nicolas.
Shan: So Nicolas, what time did you come here to start queuing for the tickets?
Me: Well, we’ve been here since 12!
Shan: Wow, since 12! You guys must really love the movie!
Me: Yeah, we love it! We’ve… (gets cut off by him)
Yeah, so end of conversation. Didn’t know what he was speaking about after that. Gawd, was I nervous! Imagine like, the listeners hearing my voice! Haha. Of course, I’m like, a nobody? =/
Maybe I should consider a future occupation as a DJ!
”Helloooo! It's Nicolas here on the Perfect 10, 9,8,7 FM! So I have a request now from blah blah blah!”
Ok randomness. =p
You need a really good command of english speak confidently you know!
Shan's radio broadcasting was impeccable!
Then, we asked Shan for a group picture and he agreed so yeah! Coolness.
Kia Hong looked a little “big” as he was standing in the front though! =X
We went for dinner at Long John’s Silvers after that and then we parted ways.I’m feeling uber lucky man~! 2 celebs I’ve met in a month!
Felicia Chin and Shan Wee were wonderful and interactive celebs! =D
Ok, I so need to bring a better camera around next time!!!
Otherwise, I might regret it, big time. Lol.
Alright, so I have some pics for everyone to view!

Its been awhile but YES.
Blogger is finally working for me again.
This saves me from the frustrations that I have to endure trying to blog, apart from all the shit I am dealing with right now.
----------------------------------------------------------
So let me just start with what’s been going on the past few days. Well Prelim 1 has started and I must say that it hasn’t been easy. Not for me at least, I don’t know how the rest feel about it. I’m sure all of us have to deal with unexpected questions and many have also desperately tried to spot questions for enigma-peppered SS papers.
For me, I studied my ass off for SS, only to be the stupid idiot that I am and waste my time writing an answer and cancelling it because I thought it was irrelevant, of which I found out later that it was actually part of the given factor I was trying to answer the question with. I felt really stupid/confused/angry/emotional after that SS paper. Clutching my heavy humans file, I walked into the MC after the paper and just plonked myself on the sofa-bed, curled up in a foetal position.
I stoned for a while before sobbing, goodness know why but yes, I sobbed for a little while.
I couldn’t help it.
I guess it’s just the expectations that the teachers and those around me that I have to live up to and I think I haven’t done my best effort yet. Sitting there, I wanted to be left alone, but NOOO, I had to be interrupted by people asking me about the SS paper and advice on the following paper.
I mean, can’t I just have a little moment to myself? I promptly used my jacket and buried myself in it, ignoring everyone around me. I didn’t feel any better. Besides, I needed to be in the right state of mind to do my following paper so yes. I do NOT feel apologetic for ignoring you guys who wanted to speak to me. It’s hard to understand when I’m in such a mood, somehow I can’t find myself too.
English was sad, I don’t know but I think I couldn’t finish my magazine report, although I think I did pretty well with my narrative on my problem of bullying I had to over come it. Just hope the teacher doesn’t cringe at my colourful vocab of “shit” and “pale-faced bitch”. I felt it was necessary to drive my point. Hmm.
Prelim 1 has been OK so far. OK being passable and its only half of the prelim 1. SPAs and the 2nd half to go after June hols…
-----------------------------------------
Alright, so today after my paper I went to parkway to have brunch. Met those creatures from another Sec 4 class at the school bus stop. Damn, how I wish I could slap them till they couldn’t open their bloody mouths again. Their annoying “Nicolas, Nicolas” was soooo getting on my nerves. For goodness sake, I don’t need to speak to you guys, nothing constructive ever does come out from our conversations. And I don’t need you to go around proclaiming that I am your “boyfriend” and the “great times we spent together as an item”. I repeat: I don’t give a shit how you choose to portray your own personality. That only shows how low and screwed up your pathetic life is.
You make me sick.
If payback’s a bitch, and revenge is sweet,
I’ll be the sweetest bitch you’ll ever meet.
(Thanks Kenrick for that one-liner, I finally made use of it!)
------------------------------------------------------------
Anyways on a side note, tomorrow is the final prelim paper for the term and I guess everyone is looking forward to a break, albeit a very short one. I think it was really great hanging out with others who were mugging and a special mention to the Sec 3s who made my day by never failing to make me laugh or just break out in a smile when I step in the MC room.
It helps a lot under stressful times like this and I thank you for it... (:
Oh yeah, thanks Danial for sending me the digimon songs, brings back great childhood memories.

ooh the nostalgia listening to digimon songs...
『ダニアル』 倖田來未の新しいのMAXIシングル:『FREAKY』 6.27 on sale! says:

‘Nuff said.
Have a pleasant night y’all.
(Sorry for the crazy post but yeah, I had to get it off my chest!)
