The final post of 2005! It has been a hectic week, I had to go back to school yesterday for sec 1 orientation as I'm a Peer Leader. Met my class for the first time yesterday. Spoke to them for a little bit, not much help though, felt like I was talking to a wall... I hope the sec 1s open up and start answering back soon... saw some pai kiahs in the class too. Had that type of gangster look. Typical... I will be involved in the Peer Support Board T-shirt desgin too next year... Need some help yeah?
I had my maths tuition class today! FINALLY (: I AM SO HAPPY I CAN DO MATHEMATHICS AGAIN! LALALA' WOOHOO TO A MATHS! I wanna do E maths soon!!! MUST DO WELL!
I just realised its already December 31st. And in just a few hours it will be 1st Jan'06. Yet, I still do not know my sec 3 class... Can't the school just freakin post the class allocations soon? I am going crazy!
I am thinking of how to engage the sec 1 class I am assigned to, anyone has any nice games that is confined to the classroom only, please just tell me alright? Nothing sick please, they're like kids only! Haha.
I will TRY to finish all my homework by Monday! doing my best! Everyone too must ganbatte!!! School is reopening and you too should feel worried. I know I am.
Celebratory mood sometimes dampens your spirirt as you know school is starting... how contradicting. It will be a few more hours to midnight and I hope everyone is prepared for a fresh year!

Happy New Year everyone! Well wishes all around! Till next post then!

First of all, I would like to wish everyone a big Merry Christmas! Everyone deserves this day of joy and fun, but always remember the true spirit of Christmas! So, yesterday I had teen lit meeting/ Christmas party/ Christmas lunch. After discussing for about an hour or so about the upcoming things we were planning for 2006, we had lunch that consisted of turkey, soya bread and macroni & cheese! Had a a large topping of apple sauce, turkey sauce and cranberry sauce on my turkey and ham! Haha. Then we had a log cake for dessert! Delicious! We then took pics of the day and had gift exchanges!

>

Click to enlarge! The cake was melting in the hot weather, that's why it looks a little lop sided... LOL! Well I called it a log cake "cream erosion"! =)

I went to my cousins grandmothers house for Christmas dinner and indulged in the usual Christmas feast. Watched the movie Sky High while I was there too! Then, we exchanged presents with our cousins and headed off to my cousins house before going to church. I was at church at about 11+ then we were singing songs for the mass later on and we had a bit of caroling too. So, mass started at 12, it was Christmas day already! Mass ended at about 1+ then when I went out, I wished all my friends and family a Merry Christmas. Hugs and handshakes were exchanged! The dress code for the night was really really formal. The gals were in dresses and the guys in suits, quite a lot I would say. Haha. Anyways, I had fun and turned in about 3.

Today I woke up 12! Then I practically slacked/ watched tv/ read chi book for the whole afternoon. Left for my aunts house about six and had Christmas dinner there. I love the salmon spread and the pate! The pasta and lamb chops were heavenly! Received some hong baos and presents from my aunts too. We spent the night chatting and had a lot of laughs. I saw my grandmother who was staying at my aunt house. She looked really thin and I spoke to her for a bit. Po Po, I am praying for you, your birthday is coming and I want you to celebrate it happily.

Anyways, once again I wish everyone a Merry Christmas, spread the love around!
Thanks to everyone who sent me a Christmas card! (:

Yesterday was fun yet boring. It was the secondary 1s registration and I was in-charge of the counter at the entrance of the school. So the only thing I had to do was to issue queue numbers and give out the booklists. I saw quite a handful of H.I.P.S students. Hehe. Well, some parents kept firing questions at me as they could not decide whether their son was taking higher mother tongue or just mother tongue. Giving out the booklists was a major headache. Most of them came by quickly and only 2 were left on my list. Personally I just like helping out lah. (You might think, Is he stupid? Well, I think that about myself too) Lol. They did not show up in the end. I waited there for so long… Well in total I was doing my duty from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. Next week is the sec 1 orientation, more duties to do! Whee!
Here is a little something:
straining like heck
keeping it back
face goes blue
but what to do
so many people
i feel so feeble
must not give in
it'll be a great sin
slow stupid elevator
can't you go faster
help i'm gonna burst
shoulda let go first

oh crap! can't hold on
it's gonna be a H-Bomb!
argh! quick!! think!!
here comes the stink!

i know! pretend to be a prude
stare coldly at the next dude
and he'll cop the blame
thus i'm spared the shame

it works! to my relief!
the lady's giving him a lot of grief
although it's evil as can be hey!
better him than me!

This poem stinks! (:
Merry Christmas Eve to everyone!
Love & Peace!

On the 17th to the 19th of December I was at Downtown East Costa Sands Resort. Nothing much happened really, just slacked there, ate a lot of junk. I went to Wild Wild Wet which was quite ufn i guess... went swimming too. The best thing was that I bought new school shoes.I wanted two pairs actually, but the sports shoes was out of stock, how annoying. The horrible part of the chalet stay was that I had to do a chinese compo which took up alot of my time. Damn it lah! It was fun to spend time with my cousins, and money too!
This week practically nothing happened. Been reading up a lot on chi and english story books as i have to do book reviews and newspaper articles. Sianz. I need a miracle to finish all my homework in time!
Yesterday was great as I went shopping with Kenrick at Far East plaza. Splurged a bomb there! =) I just simply looove the clothes there! So nice and cute for some of the designs... when i save i more money I will go back there to buy more clothings.
I went to school today for a briefing for the sec 1 registration which happens tomorrow. Gosh, we were in school arranging papers and forms to put into files for the new sec 1s. Anyways, I hope I don't see sec 1s taller than me next year, well not too many I hope. It just so happens that I'm short! Bleahs.
Praying that nothing will screw up tomorrow, being a peer leader is hard work!~

Hi everyone, started on a new blog post again. Trying something new. Again, this post will be based on an event that happened on 25th November. November, a month of activities, practically disappeared in a blink. Bah, its already mid December and homework's not done yet. Ok, so in this post I will be putting up pics of my uncle's mother's birthday held at Four Seasons Hotel Ballroom. A night of glitter, glamour, drinks of wine and liquor, not to mention people in drunken stupours. There were songs, dance of the golden ages. Beverly Morata of Singapore Idol was there. VIPs and many high society folks. Adults mostly, kinda like an adult party. Gosh, my family felt under dressed there. The men were all in suits and tuxedos, the women, in dresses that could blind you under the bright lights. ME, i was wearing a shirt and jeans, thinking it would be rather formal already. Guess not. Well here are some pics of that night...
You can click on the pics to enlarge if you want (:

Seated at table 19, as you can see. I don't know the total number of tables, but it filled up the entire ballroom. There was a dance floor and a band playing too. Under the multiple chandeliers that were sparkling with the neon lights that swivelled and spun around. Interesting, ballrooms. Glitzy atmosphere.

First dish of the night. Roasted pork and scallop ball. Lol. The scallop was tender and succulent... Not to mention being extra fat, bigger than normal ones.
Juicy~ *slurp*

Longevity buns! Nice lotus paste in them. Love the job they did in decorating the bun. I had two of these. SHUANG BAO mah! =P

Brownies for dessert. The brownie was really unique as it had not one, two, but three textures, even for its small size. The first part was like a chocolate cake, second was choclate fudge and the last part was sugar coated. How sweet, not to mention guilty indulgence. =)

Last but not least, the final dish of the night. Aloe vera with lemon grass jelly. I liked the arrangement, the flower was really pretty. Haha. The taste was rather nice, sour tinge to it.
Well, the night was fun, the food was stupendous. Couldn't recognize that Beverly from Singapore Idol at first cos' she was in a dress and the hair was different. She sang nicely though. She sang in mandarin too. Wanted to ask for a pic/autograph but changed my mind. The lady was earning her keep here! All together there it was a 8-course dinner. But I had 10-course, in a way. Had two plates of abalone dishes, and two buns! The high life, night life, I enjoyed it tremendously. To top it off, everyone was given a red packet, 6 dollars in it! Woohoo. Attend a birthday dinner and get red packets! Went home with a big stomach, full and happy. One day when I'm rich... =D

Day 1
The start of LTC. Set off for Malaysia bright and early in the morning. We sec 2s were going to the Mawai Eco Camp have our camp. So, for practically the whole journey, we just kept doing the school cheers and practising the campfire songs until our voices went hoarse.(think: Broken hi-fi set) Reached the camp in about 2hours. When we reached the camp, we had to set up our bunks that we were going to sleep on for the next few days. Wooden trunks and a canvas sheet spread over it --- our bed, much like a hammock. Well, we had lunch, then proceeded to the first activity of the day. In my group, we started with the water obstacles first. Some of the obstacles were really challenging, made harder with the challenge the camp instructors put forth to us. Each group had 3 eggs to take care off throughout the camp, the eggs can only be in our pockets, hands or t-shirts. So in every activity we had, we have to hold those eggs. Well, I won’t bother talking about the eggs… those vile things. Haha, the water obstacles were really fun, difficult at times. Best of all, you can laugh at the seniors when they fall in the water… muahahaha. After the whole activity, we were all drenched and then we played a game of volleyball --- in the muddy water! Call it WaterVolleyball? LOL. Yes, movements were restricted but we tried our best, we cheered in the water and just splash the water all around. I wanted to scream when a water spider crawled on me! I flicked it away with my hand but it was still floating on the water! After that, we went to wash up, the swamp river smell still lingered on my body after my bath though… >.<
Day 2
Well, like any other practical school camp, the second day usually starts with PT. What else but do the 5 BX and green bottles … then we had a run as well … Had breakfast and then our squad set off the swamp forest walk. When we with the instructor, he passed a plastic bag around and each of us took an oil palm seed from it. He told us to bite into it and taste it, I was a little reluctant at first, but did it anyways, the seed tasted buttery! Yup, then he told us that it was used to make butter and soap, etc. Then, we continued into the swamp area, stopping a few times to look at different species of plants and even eating grass like deer. While we were in the swamp, we learnt many things about the trees and the animals that live there. One animal to note was the panther claw marks on the trees that were really cool. The trees are where the panthers stake out before they pounce on their prey, before dragging them up the tree to devour them. Well, usually during the swamp walk, despite trying my best to avoid stepping in the wet, soggy mud WHILE wearing knee high socks, I got my right foot stuck in one area and when I tried to pull my foot out, my shoe came off and started filling with dirty water… Yuck to the muck. After the walk, all the squad had to do a presentation of how the water obstacles and swamp walk would relate to the lessons learnt as us being leaders, a student and a person. Wei Jie was very pro-active! =X Comments on his team very very detailed lehz! Hehe. Good job that your group won! For dinner, each group had to cook their own dishes, using the whole chicken provided. My group cooked fried chicken and chicken soup. Unfortunately, our group was the only one that did not win anything… =( Never mind, good job to squad four members for doing their best! We worked well together! ^^ In the night, our whole LTC squads were broke up into two different groups and we all sang songs before it was our turn to go for the fireflies cruise. Very fun during the singing, I liked it! How about you guys? Anyways, the fireflies cruise was nice and somewhat eerie. There was one part of the cruise where we passed by the so-called “haunted” bunkers… really creepy. Well, I forgot about it soon enough when I saw the fireflies flying at the water surface. Like little light bulbs, buzzing around. Nice. After that we had our student-teacher session yet again… then it was supper and then LIGHTS OUT!
Day 3
Hmm, what can I say about this day? We trainees collected our packed lunches, which was fried rice and egg and sausage. Left the campsite early, went to climb mountain. It was rather tiring at first, as we just trekked non-stop for 1 hr plus. Anyways, fast forward, I just say the highlights of the climb. The most challenging part of climbing Gunung Panti was the rock wall. It was VERY steep, like climbing a 80+ degree wall. The rocks were really slippery as there were algae growing on them, damp and a gross green colour. Well, we first reached the stop over for a rest then took some pictures. Wasn’t the mountain summit yet. So we trekked for about 1+ hr then reached the summit. Thanks to everyone who helped me past those freaking big tree trunks. The scorpion we encounter was really a scare. Had lunch there, took pics, sang the VS anthem then did some cheers. I had to get a plaster for my arm as it was horribly scratched, disfigured, by the thorns and sharp leaves during the trek. Alas, everyone else had the same problem too. After hanging around the top for awhile, we proceeded down the mountain. Me, being so careless, slipped and feel face down on the ground, I hurt my right leg after that. The worse was still Paul from my class, he and his pudgy body. Haha. Well, he too, took a harsh tumble when he rushed to catch up and others were nagging him to move faster. Lol. So, we reached the campsite in the evening. Altogether, we spent 5hr+ climbing and descending the mountain, our poor bodies… heh. Night time we had a wonderful campfire and it was really fun singing and watching groups perform their songs/skits. My group did the skit and we won third place. ^^ We had fun singing/ cheering with the seniors too. Bringing the campsite down, man! After supper, then it was LIGHTS OUT!~
Day 4
Started as usual with PT then we had breakfast, then we saw the Orang Asli trap demo. The Orang Aslis are the native people in that part of Malaysia. The traps are kinda cruel and devious in catching the animals, imaging a poor deer getting hung by it foot from the tree… =( Oh well, I think its ingenious of them to think of such innovative traps using only the tree trunks and bamboo. After that, we had lunch and we set off back to Singapore! It was fun during the bus trip as we had a lot of fun and games! Thanks to our seniors, who made it enjoyable and lively. Thanks for the titbits they gave us too! When we reached back school, we had a “ceremony” where our JUNIOR LEADER red tees were given out to all the trainees, a hush, yet solemn and rewarding feel. Yeah, I’m really glad I’m finally survived both camps and earned it through teamwork and determination!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A big Thank you to all the instructors and seniors who helped us out a lot. Though we hated the regimentation and SHOUTING all the time. Kudos to the people in Squad 4! We ruled! To all the squads too, all friendly competition, don’t let it affect us alright? Hope to see all of you again, and wishing you guys all the best! YES, we survived ALL the green bottles! (About 100+ times) A feat to be proud of!
